Javier Hernandez Fernandez

Javier Hernandez Fernandez

He specializes in the area of technology innovation and brings over twenty years of practical experience in overseeing the design and delivery of R&D initiatives on behalf of multi-national companies in the field of IT, telecom, and utilities. He currently manages research and technical consulting projects as part of the Innovation team of Iberdrola, working in the smart grid, renewables, and energy efficiency domains. In addition to a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa (Canada), Javier holds two Masters degrees, in Energy Management from the University of Zaragoza (Spain), and Project Management from the University San Pablo CEU (Spain). Conducting research projects has been a central tenet of Javier’s career, whether shaping and overseeing the implementation of technological developments, guiding innovation, or publishing in professional journals and conferences.

Aiman Erbad

Aiman Erbad

Associate Professor in the College of Science and Engineering, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). Dr. Erbad obtained a PhD in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia (Canada), and a Master of Computer Science in Embedded Systems and Robotics from the University of Essex (UK). Dr. Erbad received the Platinum award from H.H. The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Education Excellence Day 2013 (PhD category). Dr. Erbad research interests span cloud computing, edge computing, blockchains, multimedia systems, and security. His research is published in reputed international conferences and journals.

Juan Manuel Corchado

Juan Manuel Corchado

Full Professor with Chair at the University of Salamanca. He was Vice President for Research from 2013 to 2017 and the Director of the Science Park of the University of Salamanca. Chosen twice as the Dean of the Faculty of Science, he holds a PhD in Computer Sciences from the University of Salamanca and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of the West of Scotland. He is the director of a renowned research group called BISITE (Bioinformatics, Intelligent Systems and Educational Technology), which has been created in the year 2000.

J.M Corchado is also the Director of the IOT Digital Innovation Hub and the President of the AIR Institute. He is Visiting Professor at the Osaka Institute of Technology since January 2015, and has been Visiting Professor at the Universiti Malaysia Kelantan and a Member of the Advisory group on Online Terrorist Propaganda of the European Counter Terrorism Centre (EUROPOL).

Mahdi Houchati

Mahdi Houchati

He is a senior engineer in Iberdrola QSTP with more than 13 years of experience in both industrial companies and research institutes. Through the variability of the roles he was carrying, Mr. Mahdi Houchati gained knowledge in modeling, optimization, energy management, machine learning along with systems design. Mr. Mahdi Houchati received his BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Engineering School of Sfax-Tunisia and his MSc degree from Qatar University. Along with his experience in the industrial sector where he was involved in the development and prototyping of a new industrial product, he was involved in several research topics as a research assistant at both Qatar University and Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute. During the last 10 years, he worked on numerous electrical and multidisciplinary projects involving machine learning, building audits, energy efficiency, energy management, and big data.

Hussam Kanaan

Hussam Kanaan

He received his B.Sc. from the Lebanese International University, Lebanon, and the M.Sc. from Anadolu University, Turkey. He is currently a data scientist with IBERDROLA QSTP LLC with more than 3 years of experience in academic and industrial fields. My research interests include big data and data science, machine learning, and time series analysis and modeling.

Muhammad Ibrar

Muhammad Ibrar

Muhammad Ibrar is a postdoc researcher at the College of Science and Engineering, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar. He completed his Ph.D. degree at the School of Software, Dalian University of Technology, China, in 2021. He completed his MS degree in Telecommunication and Networking from Bahria University, Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2014. He received his BS degree in Telecommunication and Networking from COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, Pakistan, in 2010. His research interests include Software-Defined Networking (SDN), fog computing, wireless ad-hoc, and sensor networks.
